Smart Pressure Cooker

An IoT pressure cooker with a new interactive system designed for the North American kitchen.

OVERVIEW

With the development of technology and changes in lifestyle, small smart kitchen appliances have had a large market which is increasing at a high speed in North America. Among all of the small kitchen appliances, pressure cookers and slow cookers hold an increasing market share. However, there are many problems of the existing products. Consumers are not fully satisfied with the inappropriate size and the confusing operation process according to the customer reviews on mainstream shopping websites. Therefore, there are design opportunities for innovative pressure/slow cooker design.

The project utilized a user-centered design method to discover pain points and user needs. An IoT pressure cooker with a new interactive system was designed based on the research.

A double-diamond design process was used in the study. Based on previous research, the topic was narrowed down to designing an integrated pressure cooker with an innovated interactive system.
